The Home Affordability Calculator is our tenth calculator. It calculates how expensive a house you can buy based on how much you can pay each month. You can enter the monthly payment, term of the loan, and the interest rate. You can also include extra monthly charges (such as insurance and fees), property tax, down payment, and loan points. A handy graph is provided which plots the house price over a range of different monthly payments, so you can easily see the effect of the monthly payment on the price of the house you can buy. You can easily vary any of the parameters to explore different options. This is the beta version of our calculator. If you have any problems or comments, please email us.
